From Critique Club
The shot to me seems a bit unbalanced. The space above the ducklings seems to be wasted and with a undeatiled foreground it is more emphasized. On the left of the mother duck the reed/roots seems bit over exposed and competing against the foregrounds colors.
I do think the colors are very nice overall. If you were able to move further to the left and include more of the ducklings without so much of the foreground it would have improved your shot. The muddy water does not seem to pick up the reflection enough. Maybe it is from a product of noise reduction.
The border does not really work for me either. I do not care for the green and thought maybe a simple black or white thin border would have been better.
Overall a nice piece to get back into the swing of things. Looking forward to seeing more of your work. |

this is a delightful study it rates high as a natyral history shot, what lets it down for me is it seems to be overexposed , using the -1/2 stop exposure compensation would have rescued this . Getting it right in camera is better than a rescue attempt in photo shop,.6 |

I don't care for this border, it takes too much attention away from the image |

Nicely composed - well chosen to opt for square frame. Unfortunately there's a little too much detail o things such as the roots/ twigs and grass which reduces focus on the duck and ducklings. Nice though. |

sharp pic. too bad the reeds cover the group a bunch. I would have flipped your border colors, which for me as it stands draws my eye to the edges. -5 |

The mother duck is so clear and her stance is so perfect in this photo. It would be great if you could have gotten a shot with more of the baby ducks reflections in the water. |

I like the composition of this shot quite a bit. I think some slight adjustment to Levels might bring out some of the darker colors in the grass and feathers. Great detail on the birds...nice and distinct! |

Not bad, IMHO slightly overexposed and the foilage in the lower right corner is in the way, if only you could have moved to the left and it would have been much better. Excellent sharpness though and good colours. |

The sunlight is really bright and is washing out your colors. This could benefit from some saturation and or dodge/burn to enrich the over all look. Wonderful find. |

The bright sun kind of blanches it out. Like the grouping. |

This is a cute capture, my only suggestion would be to maybe desaturate the yellows just a bit as they are a bit over-powering, especially on the grass right in the front.
This would make a lovely print as well. |

She's got a bunch and though I think it could've a bit more darkened, I'll rate it 8 |

Awesome capture. . maybe a tighter crop would have given this photo more appeal? .. Well done and good luck |
