 I've always wanted to make this sort of photograph, with an apprently black natural background - the conditions were just right, the swan was bathed in light while the trees behind cast everything in the reflection into heavy shadow.

Editing: Square crop, slight adjustment in levels to make the black really black, cloning out some distracting light spots in the water near the edges of the frame and behind the swan.

beautiful bird, pose, reflection and BG. The crop a little too tight for my taste, since the BG is more or less black, add a black frame for a wider crop

Lack of detail on brighter white areas but nice detail elsewhere and nice reflection too. Like the darkness of the water and background. Crop is a touch too tight at top for me and could do with more space infront of swan too. Nice though. 7

Absolutely beautiful shot & reflection. VERY nice job! :-) I'm sure that this one will do well... It may sound odd, but I think that since this was an Advanced Editing Challenge, you could have selectively removed some of the white spots in the water - just a minor complaint. Also there's a bit of a glare on the white breast feathers of the Polish Mute... All in all, a terrific shot! (8)

Vertical crop is perhaps a little tight. He looks a little cramped. Otherwise a phenomenal photo.
