I know it's not the best (the lens was at the full 300mm), those things like to fly pretty high. It refused to react to my whistles to come closer.
The white tips on the feathers are not due to oversharpening but because of backlight.

Cropped heaps :-(, levels, noise reduction, some sharpening. I don't really need a critique, I know what's wrong with it - nothing that a few thousand dollars wouldn't fix *g*

nicely done, but a bit more focus would have scored it higher

I really wish they would hold still! Makes them come out in better focus. Very interesting point of view. Good crop/composition. Focus is the main issue here - really tough to do with a moving bird. If you get another chance, try upping your ISO and test exposing the sky. Then set the same exposure orthe next faster one in manual mode. The image will be a little darker but you will have a better chance of getting him in sharper focus. Good luck in the challenge!

Good composition but it looks like this bird was so distant it had to be cropped and sharpened excessively.

Needs a little sharper focus here. Nice capture though.

Interesting viewpoint though looking up in this way means what we see is in shadow. Image seems soft too - I just cant make out any detail. Composition works well.

Pity about the strong halo in this image

Looks out of focus. Otherwise, nice shot.

Nice colors and nice wing spread on this shot! The image looks a little soft, which causes it to lose some of the detail I'd like to see. Nice choice of subject.

Interesting capture and I can almost see the beauty of the bird. Not having the initial sharpness doesn't make it appealing though.
