 Shot this at the Shubenacadie Wildlife Park, about 40 minutes north of where I live. They have a bunch of Fantailed Doves in a small aviary. Shot through the aviary caging wire @ 200mm.

I shot this at ISO 800, although I could have gotten away with ISO 400 for sure, maybe even 200. I have to learn to keep a closer eye on my display. Shot the image at -1/3 exp. comp. since the highlights on the bird were very easy to blow out.

Edit for submission:
- rotate
- crop
- curves to colour correct and slightly lighten
- Selective colour to fine tune colour corrections
- A bit of dodging and burning to emphasize the dove
- Cloned out minor white bird poop spots and larger wood imperfections to once again highlight dove
- Sharpened full size image with USM
- reduced to submission size
- Sharpened just a tad more with USM
- Added white border

I really like how the lines and textures contrast with the pigeon. I think it would also look great in sepia.

Nice shot, the wood windowframe (or whatever it is) adds interest, makes it something more than a picture of a bird. good job

I love the framing of this, it feels so well composed and adds such interest for me. Nice lighting on the dove and the way it's tail points to the left top corner as it looks into the frame works well. 8
