I came across this little critter while mountain biking in the DuPont State Forest in Pisgah Forest (near Brevard), NC. His front end is a little blurry, but I wasn't sure how to get him to stop and pose! In reality, he was about 4cm/1.75 in. long.

I had the ISO set on 400 from a night shot the previous night and forget to reset it. :-/

I just read comment. It is a bummer when you forget to reset your camera settings. I went out the other day and forgot to reset my picture size. When I got back home all my pictures were really small. grrrr....
The picture isn't to bad. I just can't believe how big he is. What a creepy looking bug.

Nice subject. He looks very interesting. Actually he reminds me of some sort of sea creature. Too bad the head (the part nearest us) is slightly out of focus. Overall not a bad shot

Neat! Wish the upper body (wish i am assuming is the side closest to the left, =-p ) was a little more focused. 6

the front of him is out of focus, maybe a bigger DOF or getting a bit further away from him? Creepy thing, you're brave to get a shot of it!

Nice macro. Maybe a bit on the blurry side, it's more sharp at the tail than the "head". - 7

a little soft in the focus. i don't know how fast this critter was moving, but you might have also blocked the light reflection off of the back, which is a little distracting.
