Taken in my dining room. I cropped a little to get the boys sweatshirt number out of the frame. We all had fun with this one, until the little one had his mascara on for a while and it began to frighten him when he would look in the mirror. As for the title, I read alot of Nathaniel Hawthorne and in the story "Young Goodman Brown", Martha Carrier is described as one "who had received the devil's promise to be queen of hell. A rampant hag was she." Hawthorne's great-grandfather was responsible first for the examinations of the accused during the Salem Witch Trials and then for their convictions and sentencing, and Martha Carrier was an actual "witch" they put on 'trial.' When I heard the title and description of this challenge, that was the first thing I thought of. Anyway, I'm rambling...thats it.

I didn't understand the title, probably cos I am a brit, so I looked up the reference, and it made the picture much more interesting. I like the poses and the way one character is looking at the viewer. the dark eye shadow is a little off putting and i think the atmosphere created would have worked as well even without it. a really good image though there is a lot of atmosphere

Nicely set up and captured. Bet you had fun with that. Has that Addams Family look. :) Lighting from below is great which produces that nice upward looming shadow. Nothing is overexposed but there is a little grainyness on the right hand side subject's forehead and cheeks.

Great composition, nice light. Especially like it because it made me Google. ( I'd forgotten who she was.) If I could think of a criticism it might be that the darkness around the eyes is smudgy and artificial looking. Overall, I really like it.

nice portrayal and adhearance to the theme. IMO the lighting on the mother is a little too direct causing hot spot on the forehead and cheek. The daughter looks fantastic.

Sorry, but this seems cliche to me. I would have loved it had the models not had on makeup cause the contrast and detail is nice. I'm not familiar with Martha either.
