 Editing: Crop, levels, increase saturation on Blue and Cyan a little bit, resize, blur background a bit more, burn highlights on beak, sharpen eye and beak, unsharp mask, save for web.

Taken today near our favorite campground. This is my first entry since my Dad passed away on May 28th.

Interesting looking bird - with nice blue color. The background is just way too busy. I'm having a hard time figuring out if the bird's face has a shadow or if the dark area is the feather coloring.

your background lends itself to some very interesting patterns. i wish you would have blurred it out a bit more. nice focus on the bird. the orange in the background is a bit distracting...maybe desat the orange out.

Lovely texture and motion on this Jay! An expertly made portrait. I wonder if his coat is ruffed not only because of the wind, but because he's a juvenile? Looks to be between plumages.
Color well rendered. Perhaps desat on yellow would have pulled down the orange spot and lessened the tug of the green that competes with your subject. Nicely captured, nonetheless . . . . . . . .
