When I shoot night time photos, for some reason, I just really like to shoot very high speed, grainy looking black and white photos with a serious mood to them. This is one of my favorite locations, any location with a street lamp actually, it provides a great atmosphere to work with.

i don't know if you meant to have the noise and grainy effect on your photo. but i thought it would be a more powerful shot without it.

Too much noise! Details not enough. Could have been a very good. I gave a 5.

Great image of solitude, darkness and despair. The grain adds a lot, the empty street is perfect. 8.

I love the photo and I see what you are going for... but for me it is almost a bit too grainy... This would be a good photo for a print ad!

I suspect you included a large amount of space to emphasize the isolation of your subject, but this image might be improved by copping much of the bottom nd right side of the image from the composition. They add little that the lights and darkness don't already provide.

Reminds me of a sepia I entered in a challenge a long time ago where I purposely added grain for effect.:

Hope your does better. :)

I really like the extra noise in this picture, I think if used in the right situations it really adds something to the picture! Nice job!

I can't decide whether this should have had a tighter crop or not - it would do more for the subject if it was tighter, but having the wider crop emphasises the loneliness of the person. 6

I can really feel the solitude. Could have used some noise reduction around the lights.
