Highlights have been blown out. Suggest stopping down the appeture next time, and/or waiting a few more minutes for the sun to dissapear. |

Meets the challenge well.
There are a few technical factors that will hold down its score. The area betwen the clouds is grossly overexposed and will be distracting to most viewers. The overall general image quality is not particualrly good and the focus is very soft. Even though the image appears to be in color there really isn't much thee and would be better if it were straight black and white. Lastly, the image size is small and those images generally are voted lower by viewers. |

As a sunset picture, this is not very "wow". Perhaps you could have waited a bit longer so that the sun has neared the ground and caused some backlighting? In that case, it might confuse fewer people wondering about the "darkness" aspect. Also, using the full 640 pixels would be ideal. |

I think a shot like this has potential but in this case it is not moving me. There seems to be a lack of any real detail. If the light were not so blown out, it might provide a strong focal point, but as is, I'm not finding any real anchor of interest to draw me into the photo and make a connection. Sometimes in an image like this, composing with a tree, or building, or person, something even in silhouette can really add a lot. |

the sun needs to be toned down a bit for the right effect (IIMHO) - it is just too bright. The phot is too small also - would like to see it bigger. If you use PS, there is an excellent tutorial on DPC for this. |

This was a nice idea, but seemed a little boring for me. I'd like to see a little more detail somewhere to give me something to be interested in. Perhaps a tree in the foreground to frame it? |
