From the Critique Club
I have been to Hong Kong (1990-1991), and the photo does remind me of a fantasy type of city. I just think a orverall lack of detail in the city hurt the photo in the challenge.
Things are so distant no one can truly appreciate your "city of the future". The highlight and lighting above the main building does look very nice.

Night cityscapes with a water foreground are always a nice idea. The bright area above the highest building is a cool idea. Good assortment of colors.
Hard to say if voters will feel this meets the challenge all that well or not.
Technically you might have considered zooming in on the buildings more to reduce the amount of sky that adds little to the composition and have the buidings much larger and with better definition. Conditions did not allow it but if the water would have been smoother to have a better reflection of the city it would have had added interest for viewers. |

Cool shot but this is clearly not of the future. I think focusing in on an abstract building like the one in the center-left, would have been more effective. |

cool how the light seems to be coming from the top of the building. |

Excellent light and composition, but horrible compression artifacts. You realize your file is just over 26KB? It could have been almost 6 times bigger, which would easily have gotten rid of those artifacts. |

I've looked at this photo a couple of times. I like the lighting (especially on the clouds from the large tower), although I wish that we saw some reflection of the lights in the water. Also, the pincushioning could be fixed with perspective in PS. 6 |

This is a great picture, except for the extreme JPEG compression, which destroys it. PLEASE try to use close to the full 150KB you can use, this image is only 25KB, and it shows. Sorry, I just hate to see such a nice photo violated like this. :) |

Great idea, maybe a bit grainy, still very good! |

Beautiful the way you did the color tones and the interesting angle of the skyline. |

I really tried to view and rate this without the title being involved. However, I just couldn't. With the title it just makes me say - just a decent night shot of some city. Without the title, it just makes me say - just a decent night shot of some city. |
