Last minute submission here, I saw this housefly walking around on my desk in the middle of the night and noticed that the fly couldn't fly... so I took a picture of the fly :)

Hmm... did you do this? Or did you come across this fly "by accident"... Nice photo though, those curves in the background do the trick.

I think your title would be more correct if it said the fly that could not fly

A good strong image

Deduct a point for animal cruelty :)

It could go round in circles perhaps? Nice shot - and effective in bw.

Wonderful focus at this range. You didn't have to pull a wing off the little fella to get him to hold still, did you? :)

It cuts a very forlorn figure; nice picture.

Strictly from an artistic point of view, i would rate this image as one of the three best in this challenge. It has great impact on me. It's so Zen-like. Technically very good, too. Like the B&W and the toning and my eye gets a thrill out of the white wavy line. 10 Journey

I really like this image - very simple, and very minimalist. What makes it for me is the wavy white line across the top and the graininess is also attractive.

When you say that it couldn't fly is that because you put glue down or just because it's resting?

i'm not sure if the grain was intended. i think it works fine with the grain...if it wasn't intended, try neatimage to smooth things out. either way, it's a great shot.
