Would have liked this better if it didn't have the hot spot. It also would have been much more effective if it was shot on a cloudy overcast day. It does meet the challenge though.

Interesting, innovative, inspiring. Great presentation. Love the light reflecting off the helmet and the water, the varying depth of the water juxtaposed with the height of the helmet, the reddish tint of the sand (lower right) against the red on the helmet . . . . I could (but won't) go on and on and on. Excellent photograph.

There is no honor in war, nor death. A nice photo and good balance though.

Some may call it sappy, but I call it sublimely moving. The longer I live, the more I am awed by what this image represents. 9.

This could have done with having more negative space on the left of the picture. Still, good capture.

Being miltary myself I can relate to this image. I'm hoping that is actual an old metal helmet and not the kevlar type, you wouldn't meet the challenge then.

Good luck

Remember, photogrphy is not about capturing moments or objects, but to make them look interesting. Somehow this does not look very interesting.

We all know that this is a metal challenge. Excluding the word "metal" would reflect a differant perspective, and strengthen the title.

Nice comp, nice idea, b&w's good, color very nice, texture great, overall very nice
