Hello from the Critique Club!!!
Composition:
I like the idea of the shot. I see the comments are all over the place but I am in the camp that there is just a tad too much red.
Camera Work:
DOF is shallow but it is not too distracting. Lighting works and adds to the shot. The only thing that really bothers me at all is the end of the petals. I am not sure why, they just make me stop and see what they are.
Post-Processing:
I can not comment on your post-processing because you did not include it in the comment field. Including this information helps us see what you have done, and can help teach other users how to use post processing to improve their pictures.
My Opinion:
I like the shot, it shows a very romantic side and one that any girl would love see waiting for her someday.
You are a very talented and I think your abilities and passion for this art will take you far. Keep shooting and sharing and teach us old dogs some new tricks
I hope you find these comments to be helpful, thank you for allowing me to critique your picture. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact me via PM.
Best of luck in your future photographic endeavors,
Regards,
Karen Doss

Hope this did well, I love this non-standard yet creative approach to lines. |

You just prove one does not have to travel all over to meet these challenges - 9 |

I would have preferred greater depth of field. |

Excellent composition. The lighting is superb, the colours of the petals just stand out enough from the background. |

this red on red is lovely, a very mature choice. well done. I like the short DOF, too. |

I think the red background truly detracts from the potential power of this image. 5 |

nice idea, but I might have gone for a black background, there's a bit much red |

Technically i think the shot could have been executed a little better. I don't see the rose petals as a leading line though. I am more distracted by the DoF problems than I am led to your subject. |

I actually really like the red on red. It really brings out the ring. Very unique idea of having the rose petals be your leading lines! Good use of dof as well. |

Nice take on the challenge. Could use some contrast, however. |

I would have preferred this with a white or black background, the red is competing too hard with the petals. |
