 I like the fact that the picture is over exposed because it gives it an out-of-date feel that fits well with the theme. Papa actually has a very upbeat spirit, but I think this more stoic pose reflects his defiance against the "obsolete" things of his past, like his beloved push mower.

your title takes the position that this image does not fit the challenge. love the respectfulness shown him by your angle. a bit bright for my taste.

lighting is overexposed and washes out all the colors try shooting during better part of the day ... house and car in the background do not add to the shot.

I like this pic and now it relates to the challenge. This one almost seems to be begging for a funny word balloon and made into a birthday greeting card - and I mean that in a good way. I like the composition and how the mower is at a slight angle. the highlights seem a little blown out to me and it might benefit from tighter cropping, especially off the top.

Great angle. It really makes the mower stand out, and puts the gentleman in the background, but it seems like the gentleman is the subject.
