Editing: Darken highligts, levels, burn too bright roofs of train cars, slightly blur people in open car, burn highlights on the grass on the bottom left, reduce yellow saturation a tiny bit, crop, noise removal, resize, unsharp mask, bit more burn on roofs and grass, save for web.
This is the Cumbres Toltel Narrow Gauge Train which travels between Antonito, Colorado and Chama, New Mexico. It is one of my favorite subject to photograph. My husband and I enjoy the drive from our house to Chama and taking pictures of the train along the way is fun.
The light was bad today - I took lots of pictures but this scene is the only one with a bit of sun. Not only was the light bad but our favorite shop which sells fudge in Chama was closed so we had to make due with cookies and ice tea at a little cafe! |

Excellent composition. There does seem to be a high amount of haze though. Did you try PP to correct this at all? |

Wonderful lines, wonder if the contrast might be better bumped up just a little bit. |

I can't help but feel that this could do with an additional touch of sharpening. |
