If I did not know better, I would say this was Ruben's long lost brother...

Thanks to everyone for the comments. I would also have liked to see the eye in focus, but I was working with my p&s as I don't have a macro lens for my big camera. It kept autofocusing on the nose. Oh, well, I still like the shot. |

Focus would be much more effective on the eye |

great shot, almost looks like one of my cats. i like the composition but i think this would get higher scores if the focus point was on the eye. - 7 |

I would have liked to see the eyes in perfect focus instead of the nose.... |

I would have like to see the eye in focus too, but it still works really well |

This really pops out at you. Very good. |

This is one of the best and most intense cat shots I've seen. I really like the crop. The only (but very tiny) niggle is I'd love to see the eye as sharp as the nose. |

Beautiful. You almost cant tell if it is a house cat or a mountain lion. |

Should have focused on the eye. |

not a fan of the frame, but everything is quite fine. The detail it excellent and your composition is as well. Like the eye and its great color but I wish it was as sharp as the nose and surronding hair. Works OK as DOF, I think, as it does give depth to the image. |

Nice close-up. I would rather like to see the focus on the eye which is more interesting and beautiful than the nose which is cute, but not as much as the eye. |

I would like to see the eye in focus more than the nose. |

great pic. I love the color and sharpness, very arresting image. I would like to see a slightly larger (taller) crop for comparson that would place the eye and nose more squarly on the "rule of thirds" lines. |

7 - Good, but maybe more eye or, more detail in the nose or lips. Hard to go wrong with cats though, always make a good subject. |

Best cat picture of the bunch (not comparing, just making a statement). Excellent composition. Wonder how selective desat of all but the eye would look like. Cliche? Maybe. Wish the eye was just a little sharper but image is great as it is. 8 from me - good luck in the challenge! |

Nice cropping.. The composition is good. I wish the focus was on the eye and not the nose. |

You´ve got the fur just right but not the eye that I think should be the strongest point, cute kitty.. |

nice cat's nose. you can also increase the dof, so the eyes are sharp, too. |
