 close up of a rusty tow chain photographed handheld in it's current enviornment: outside on a grate at a gas well, just after sunset.

Levels, saturation to entire image, cloned out a few sand grains, layers: darkened bottom layer & erased hole in top, flattened. new layer, guassian blur, erased hole to emphasize sharp areas, increased red & yellow saturation, crop & USM

Think you could've gone in even tighter in cropping, very nice nonetheless. What're you going to do with a basic rather than advanced challenge? ;-)

My eye gets taken away from the links beause of the grey bit they are resting on. Maybe by cropping out the bottom secion and only leaving the links for the eye to absorb?

I like the colors and texture, but more then that I love the way the chains are laying on the ground. Like they are too heavy to hold themselves up.
Something in this "pose" is moving.
On eof my favorite in the challenge.

Of all the rusted old metal things I've seen lately, I really really like this. I think your light and depth of color is quite well done. The black background helps give it some more snap too. Almost looks like a coiled up snake.
