*Greetings from the Critique Club*
First of all, let me say that (like many other commenters) I don't see how this really meets the Macro V Challenge. I'm sure that the score for this image suffered greatly from a lack of apparent ties to the challenge topic. It may be that you have an excellent reason and justification for this being a macro or close-up, but I think the average viewer will miss it.
Second, this is an exceptionally good shot. The composition is excellent. The colors are great. The lighting is good. The DOF is outstanding. I'm sure that if this had been entered in the Construction or Circle Challenge, it would have scored MUCH higher. Maybe you could add some comments to the shot to help the viewer understand your intentions more clearly.
I like the somewhat unusual perspective you used - it really adds to the image's appeal. Like I said, this is a REALLY good shot and I hate that it didn't score well because it appeared (to the layman's eyes) entered in the wrong challenge.
Anyway, very nice work. Just my 2 cents...
Jimmy

Doesn't really seem to be macro, even though it's a close up. |

Either that's a really really small truck, or you thought macro meant big. |

Certainly different! A very sharp and well executed shot. Bumping up. |

nice, but not a Macro....great composition, but even though your camera was set in macro mode, or maybe you had a macro lens as well, and till a long distance shot and came out with this? 6 |

I really like the composition here - that wheel filling the bottom right corner and the diagonal of the rest of the machine. The simplicity of the colors is nice -the yellow against the blue is very effective. I'm sure you'll get plenty of comments that this isn't a macro except in the reasoning that it isn't micro. It is good work nonetheless! |

Well photographed, and I like the angle & composition. The colors & detail are beautiful. While I know the challenge includes closeups, I don't feel this is close enough to meet the spirit of the challenge (I'm generally not tryannical about this - this is only 1 of 2 images I am marking down for challenge appropriateness). 5 |

Nicely composed. Good color saturation. Well focused. But it doesn't "feel" like a macro to me. I fear voters will give it a low score for the same reason. |

I just can't see this in a macro competition, even if the title does include "close up". Aside from that fact, it is just not very interesting. |

This shot does not meet the challenge. Where is the macro in this shot? |

It's a wheel alright, and a very nice photograph, but not a macro or even a close-up. However, I am pretty sure it is parked on a pretty flower, crushing it into the gravel. So you get a 7 from me. |

unless this is a lego, this doesn't say "macro" to me. |

Great shot for the Construction Challenge, but I just don't see how this fits the Macro V Challenge. Beautiful DOF and colors though. |

Unless the tractor is a toy, and it doesn't appear to be, I don't quite see how this image qulaifies as a macro. It's very nice and sharp, though, and the colour harmonies are really nice. |

How small is this wheel??? (sorry, just expecting to see small things big in the macro challenge) |
