i'm very disappointed in the score and placement of this. I scored it a 9, which is very rare for me. it was clearly the best of the flower macros IMO. too subtle I suppose. great job Ursula.

Wow, you're photo was the only 10 I gave out this challenge. Very artistic interpretation. Love the extreme shallow dof. Colors and light are awesome. Obviously I'm not the only one that feels this way with (7 favs). Add another fav to the count for me. Pure Artistic talent!!!! Cheers....Martin

I love the impressionist feel. I would have like to have seen another 1/4 of the petal tips in focus, however. Great emotion and color.

A bit too much blur for my tastes but I lke the effect it has on this image very much. Very interesting photography on what might be considered an ordinary subject. It does add a lot of interest and makes the image a fine abstract.

Very abstract with the really narrow depth of focus. The impression of light an shadow helps the eye understand the picture none-the-less. Your use of diagonals creates a pleasing composition. I imagine this won't appeal to everyone, but I enjoy it. 7

At last! A flower shot with some imagination and originality. This is terrific & shows what can be done if the brain is focused as well as the camera. 9

Innovative composition and DOF. Interesting foreground/background patterns. Nicely saturated colors. A creative take on the challenge. It's a splendid addition to the challenge. Good work!

where's the impressionism challenge when you need it. I haven't been particularly moved by the flower macros in this challenge, but I have to tell you this is phenomenal. I really hope this becomes a print when you're done...I think you'd make some sales with it. Beautiful texture and subtle bokeh. the focus on the front petal isn't perfect (or maybe your sharpening method added a few artifacts that obscures it some), but close enough for me. Very very nice.

I really like this shot. It has an impressionist feel to it. I hope other voters don't beat you up too much for choosing the front of the petals for the focal point, because it sure makes your flower shot unique.

I really like the soft feel of this photo. It nicely contrasts all the sharp images in this contest. The colors are also well blended and I like the composition and the 'cut off' crop! Well done!!!

I love the colors and the artsy feel of this shot. The blurring does make it hard to see the detail that many people will judge on because of the challenge topic. But a lovely peaceful photo to me.

An extreme angle for macro, with it's very shallow DOF. This image is actually very dream-like to me, with soft colors and soft edges. Very different. But I like it a lot. Very well done. <8>

Ooooooooooh me likey! Talk about shallow DOF and then some! This isn't shallow this is a mere paddling pool! Beautiful composition and shapes of colour allowing the eye to paint the details that have been given only along one edge. Oh my but this is nice.
