 When I found this beautiful spider in the bathtub I knew I found my subject for this challenge. But I don't own a macro lens, so I decided to try something creative.

I placed him on an angled mirror on my kitchen table by a window, the background is the outside reflected onto the mirror. I used a tripod and natural light.

I'm always forgetting to check the ISO and it was set at 800 from the last time I used the camera so I've got quite a bit of noise, but I kind of like the effect it gave the photograph, it looks almost like a water color painting.

I really didn't do much post-processing. I made a few adjustments in raw, cropped, applied neat image, adjusted levels and hue, then added the border.

I predict this won't do well because it isn't close enough. I hope you like it anyway.

this is a really cool shot! near-perfect focus - exposure right on. the depth of field is almost perfect (front legs only nit)...bumping up

Very well done. The reflection is amazing.

If the contrast was upped a little it could really pull the spider away from the background.

7 - Yes, I like this. For me though, the 'reflections' in the background overwhelm the delicacy of the spider too much, perhaps even the green color too. Otherwise nice shot . More detail on the spider would be good too, but I guess you'd have to chop 'his' legs off to get that. I am guessing it is water?
