One of a serie I'm making about spiders and their world. It's just fascinating to watch and as I have an old barn, a big yard and a very old farmhouse, I won't have to look far to find them. It's a really beautiful, harsh, but fascinating world, once you open your eyes to it.
This hole is from a big, black 'furry' spider with rather long legs. They're harmless, we don't have poiseness spiders in The Netherlands, unless they're brought in from other countries.
The entrance of this kind of spider's webs are always a circle, don't know why.
When they're done eating, they roll up their catch and hang them 'outside' in their garden.

This photo is cropped just a little bit on the bottom and right, sharpened and I darkened it a little bit to get more contrast. |
