spider color is a bit dull - but I dont imagine this particular fella had much mroe to offer. Would have liked more detail/shaprness

Please take this as the compliment it is....this photo has enough detail that it freaks me out to look at it! I'm just very afraid of spiders :-) I like how you can see the web trailling behind.

8 - Nice. More abdomen focus would be near perfect. Perhaps slight rotation. The black background brings out what may seem like otherwise dull colors.
