well i'm amazed at this result .. a brilliant macro ... did you use a tripod for this shot? ...
for most of my macro's a tripod is not an option because my subjects are moving all the time .. i photograph nature in nature .. i dont set it up at home .. |

Very cool! I scored this one high but had no idea what it was. Great shot. |

Here are a couple of croppings from a little further away which let you see that the macro is an extreme close-up of a little round cactus plant about the size of a golf ball.

Unreal - I'll be very curious to know what this is when the challenge is over - cactus? Composed so that you see the parts of the image and accept them for what they are without having to know what the whole is. Sharp in the right places and nicely composed. 8 |

7 - Good. No idea what it is, a sea urchin? Good detail and perspective though. Perhaps one of the darkened 'tips' into focus and, it would be better, if you could do so without losing the 'shavings' of white. Not sure. To me it is such a nasty looking 'thing' that the 'needles' need highlighting. |

What the @#$! is th---- oh, it's a cactus! Very neat perspective. Great job, and very very unworldly. |

I'm dying to know what this is, although I think it's an extreme close-up of the stamens and pistals (sp?) of a flower. Very cool shot with great clarity! |

That is amazing! The contrast of those colors is so striking! And of course, the detail is incredible. Excellent shot. |

If the background were a richer green, it might have more pop , but that's just me. The detailing is good. The spikes in the foreground are a tad distracting but it's hard to rearrange mother nature. |
