This could compete for the brown, or... dare I hope?! Alas, I'm afraid that the subject won't be obvious to many people here, and you'll just think I've taken a shot of some polka dots on my wife's bathing suit ...or something.

These are actual pixels from a blank white screen on my PC monitor. It's hard to believe that when you get enough of these RGB pixels together the result is white. What you see here are 88 (11 X 8) of the 786,432 (1024 X 768) pixels.

I reverse mounted an old Minolta 50mm lens on my Sigma 105 macro to get a 2x magnification (60 X 45 pixels) from about 1/2 inch of the monitor, then cropped a small section from that. With the long exposure (necessitated by the loss of light with the reversed lens), I used my TC-80N3 to trigger the shutter (w/mirror lockup).

Some saturation, selective color, and usm was applied.

good contrast, but perhaps a little over-saturated. Subject is not interesting at all.

Looks like one of those color blindness test patterns. I am color blind so I am sure I am under appreciating this image.

ACK...now I'll be seeing colored spots when I close my eyes. While it is nice to see some originality in a challenge full of bugs and flowers, this is just not pleasing to the eyes.

Hmmm, I don't understand this...

Not voting. Just had to let you know that it made me laugh. Might get low votes because there isn't anything to compare the size with. I'll give you a temp 10. Don't count on it staying.
edit after the forum post: This is the only one I voted for. It will be washed at the end. Sorry for the distress this has caused you. Did I mention before that I am not voting? But I do love that title! Should I change it to a neutral 5?

It's been a long long time, but I remember getting way up close to the tv when I was little and wondering why these little lights were hidden in it! :)
