one day an enormous hog-pile of bees was having a convention on my tree in my front yard. so i took closeups obviously. not much photoshop. crop, levels, desaturate, sharpen, save. (the next day they were gone, and when the challenge is over i'll put a few more of this bizarre occurance.)

Man.. you were brave.
I like this busy photo because it really reflects the life of a bee. busy busy

hmmmm... interesting that you choose bw. I prolly would have stayed with the colour... but that's me.
Could use a bit of a contrast boost, IMHO & a bit more deeper dof. Nice capture tho. Good luck!

Marvellous. Original and well captured. I wonder what this would look like in a brown or orange light duotone. 9

Very nice shot, but I do think color would have showed off more detail and made a greater impact.

color to me would be better, I had a shot this spring just like it. Tried what ya did, color is much better.

Brave desision to use B&W. It works.

Scary.. can't believe you got so close to all of them. I give you credit for that! I couldn't do it.

I would never, ever get that close....

Cool shot, that works very well in B/W

5 - Good concept, would like to see a lot more detail and maybe even some type of depth. I have to wonder about color v b/w though, especially with all those translucent reflective wings about.

Great title. I can hear them buzzing from here. Good composition and contrast. 8

it's probably been done a million times, but I would have kept one of the bees it's actual colour, otherwise it's a good picture, I like it

The B&W treatment of this just doesn't speak to me.

I would have loved to see this in color. Well done photo of just too many bees. LOL

Very cool capture. I would have scored it much higher in color though.
