My chair, my wife's hand. Call me silly, but I sacrificed some realism so that I could be the one to take the shot :) (Anyone want to buy a tripod that won't go down low enough?)

I will post outtakes as soon as the challenge is over (I finally have some worth posting...) Comments as to how to remove the noise BEFORE hitting it with photoshop would be nice...

FIRST IMPRESSION: THought it was a bicycle tire until I noticed the outside part of the wheel. Once I saw that the hand made sense.

CHALLENGE: Meets the challenge.

COMPOSITION: Composition is excellent. I wonder if shooting from a little bit to the side might have helped the voters realize what this was though. I don't think the voters were able to get enough context in the short time the average voter typically spends on a photograph.

TECHNICAL: Technical aspects are excellent. I like the short depth of field.

CONCLUSION: A very good image, but one that I think would need to be approached slightly differently for the voters to grasp. Remember, most voters spend only a few seconds per image when voting.

Thanks for sharing and good luck in future challenges!

This image is out of focus and seems a little plain. It also needs to be sharpened some. I think maybe if you photographed the whole bike wheel instead of just the tire, it would have added a lot more value to the image.

Good use of DOF.

Good concept, but a lot of digital noise in this image, plus, the focus isn't really crisp.

Deserves a price for what it says. Technically, it might benefit from less contrast.

I like the DOF, though I think I would have set the focus on the part of the tire closest to the front...hand in the background is distracting.

I don't know what else to say, it's just cool. The hand makes the picture.

nice image

I like the concept and the image is strong..... just think it needs to be sharper..... maybe with the grain it might have come up better in black and white with a bit more contrast....

Shouldn't that be ENabled?

Excellent use of macro! Too bad about the noise. Also, it seems like it would be more worthwhile had it been centered in the shot.
