Challenge: Circle (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Sony DSC-F717
Location: spca
Date: Jul 5, 2005
Aperture: 2.2
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/125
Galleries: Emotive, Animals
Date Uploaded: Jul 5, 2005

Part of a series of photos I'm taking to raise the profile of our local spca, to help raise awareness of the number of animals that are unwanted, abandoned, rejected by society. The spotlight created my circle. Levels, curves, selective colour and adjusted/lightened the neutral colours. Desaturated, brightness/contrast. Resized, usm.

i don't see the circle as being a key element.

This is an amazing amazing shot. The expression is perfection. The composition is absolutely excellent. I am in love with the shot, in fact... it's the kind you'd want to send to your friends by email to warm their day. I'd like to make a couple of small suggestions for future shooting - and keep in mind I'm terrible with lighting... but I'd suggest a bit of a higher contrast with the circle. Maybe even by putting the kitty in a darker hole, or painting part of the circle black. Even if this wasn't a circle challenge, it would have a greater impact of the shot and would illuminate this very beautiful creature. Bravo for the shot though. I really love it. 9

Awww...what a cutie!! I would like to see the edges on the kitty be a little more defined. Appears to fade out but perhaps that was caused by the spot light. None the less, picture pulls at the heart strings. Hope he/she finds a home.
