 This was taken in front of my monitor (more on this in a bit), using a simple desk lamp. The camera was held by hand prop'd by the table, so it took a couple shots before there was a steady enough shot to use. The reflection on my eye is the desk lamp, and a picture that was on my monitor.

Post processing went a bit like this:

Channel Mixer to get b/w (80% red, 20% green, 20% blue) ... I really, really love this technique as I've used it in the last several challenges.

Curves to push in lots of white and help isolate the blacks.

Levels to give more definition in the darks after the curves.

Curves again to add that blue/green tint (curve the red channel only).

Then the usual: Neat Image, Sharpen, Resize, Sharpen again.

And finally, add the border.

Love the light blue lighting & the translucent appearance to this picture, but the images reflected in the eye seem out of place. However, I still think this deserves an 8 because it's such a great execution (on such an overused theme). Well done.

Nice colors and focus. I like the soft feel of this picture. The reflection in the eye just isn't as nice. The area above the pupil is a little too bright.
