Ok, I confess... this photo was taken for the circle challenge, but when I went to enter it, it had already ended (which I don't understand because it was still the date the challenge was supposed to end). I gave it the "family circle" name and entered it so I could receive some feedback on the photo itself, which I have received many helpful comments. Thank you to everyone who gave me advice (other than the obvious "I don't get the relation to the family theme").
I am new at this (only 2nd entry) so I appreciate the helpful feedback.
Now to those who wanted to know what it is. It is a glass vase turned on its side. The blue background is actually a step for one of my workout videos with a light behind it. I had fun with this and will continue to enter... I am determined to make it to somewhere other than the bottom 10 :)

| This image might be improved by casting a little more light on the ball at around the 4 o'clock position to give it a bit more depth; as it is the near side of the ball seems a touch flat. This is a nice picture, but even with the title this does not meet the challenge. |

| pretty colors and pretty picture. I don't think I can connect this with family since I can't understand what it is. Maybe a paperweight. It is a lovely picture that would be wonderful in an abstract challenge. |

| Well, it looks like a petrie dish ... is it a family of bacteria? It's a very striking image, anyway, although I think it would have more impact without the frame line. 6 |

| I am not sure how to define family circle (English is not my native language) but this seems a bit off topic. But the picture is absolutely great so I will not let it affect my voting. |

| Colors and textures here are interesting. I don't like the red border, however. And.... just doesn't say family at all. |

| Really pretty shot. Um.... paperweight? Love the contrast of the red and blue and the framing is a nice touch. I don't care if this is out of the box. I'm giving it an 8. |
