This was shot with the photographer looking towards the sun and therefore the children are very dark shadows. This would have been a better picture if you had done it from the other side of the pool with the sun behind you and the light on the children |

The subjects are too dark. Open up the aperature. It will reduce your depth of field, but we don't need to see those other people anyway. |

This shot is a little dark. Might try bumping up 1 stop. |

ok, you have two things going against you as far as the challenge goes: photo quality and meeting the challenge. i appreciate your entering, and hope you aren't getting beaten up too badly. however this winds up, and regardless of the comments you get, don't take it personally. if you want to do better, you can--as long as you keep trying!
here's a couple ideas. if this is the only type of sporting activity you could get, you could have done better if you had the kids line up like they were getting ready to start a race. also, if possible, you could have shot this from every side of the pool, to see which one would have the best lighting. another thing to try while shooting at this time of day is to use your flash (it will help capture details washed out by the harsh light of the sun). lastly, you might want to check out this thread -- it has some really good tips about scoring higher. good luck! |

I would have liked to have seen the people better exposed. |

For me this lacks the power of an image that it could carry, because you can not see the expressions on these children's faces. That would have raise my score at least 2 points. Also the bright back lighting from the water has almost made the children into silhouettes. That may have been your intension, but I think it hurts the image. <5> |

the people are too dark - backlit by the sun perhaps. Try putting the sun either behind you or at a 45 degree angle from you. |

You have most of the interesting things in this photo in shadow. I would have shot from the other side of the pool, where the light would be behind me and shine on the people. |

In this bright sun a flash would have worked wonders |
