Very nice photo. Wonder what lens, maybe a 50mm 1.8? 9 |

That's a very nice portrait. The severe cropping and especially the limited depth of field elevate it well above the ordinary for me. Love the title for this challenge, although there's something about your shot that conveys an unmistakable family relationship anyway. Well done. 8 |

Interesting B&W portraiture. Shallow depth of field with the center focus on the left eye is a great idea and makes the composition very interesting. Lighting is good with a full tonal range and it is properly exposed. Great capture of a Mona Lisa expression.
Nitpicking "meet the challenge" voters will call this is a "portrait" of an individual and NOT really "family" and vote this fine image lower because of it. |

Nice b/w portrait but too shallow DOF IMHO, I am drawn towards the eye to the right and its irritatingly out of focus so this is not as good as it could have been, again IMHO. 6 from me. |

the dof is too shallow - the left eye is not in focus - everything else is great. |

She bears no resemblance to 007 - must be illegitimate duaghter of Moneypenny. hehehe. Nicely done portrait. If only this were a portrait or person or daughter challenge. |

This is a great shot - she has tons going on in her eyes. depths and experience beyond her years. Beautiful girl. 8 |

portrait = family ? Title "bond" tells me more than the photograph, so I feel it is shaky on meeting the challenge, but I really like the portrait. It captures quite a lot in the face. Nice job. |

Beautiful face, glad you're not afraid of showing freckles, I have lots of those and proud of them... |

This could be a very nice portrait. Would like to see both of her eyes in focus. Perhaps a touch of gaussian blur to even out skin texture ( and no I'm not talking about messing with the freckles!) or perhaps a light layer of makeup. Otherwise this is beautiful - good lighting, wonderful composition, very nice expression. I lik ethe choice of B&W for this, but I think a color version would also have done well. |

Beautiful. She must be yours for you to capture her so well and allow your bond to show in this image. Nice contrast. |

Nice portrait, but to me this fairly frontal pose needs full DOF. |

Lovely soft portrait. Love her freckles. Lovely model. Nice use of lighting and contrast. On a second look, my only complaint is that the right side of her face is slightly blurred. If it were perfectly focused, you'd have a 10 on your hands. |

It's a really good portrait. Giving points for that, but I don't feel it really meets the challenge. Yes, could be your family, but in alot of ways, its just a portrait of a girl....nothing to tie it together with the family challenge. |

Bond? What is bonded? Who is she bonded to? Who is bonded to her? I see a half out of focus face of a girl, but nothing to connect it with family. |

Really lovely portrait! Lighting is soft and smooth, detail is great, DOF is perfect. But (and I know you've heard it by now) just doesn't say "family". Still a keeper for the portfolio! |

the lighting seems wrong as in that is casts a brightness under the right eye that is distracting to me |

i'm not especially fond of one person's photo representing the concept of family. it is however a lovely photo. wish you luck in the challenge. |

one eye is in focus, the other is very out of focus. The girl is beautiful and this is a great portrait. This however, does not say family or a family bond to me. I am sorry. 5 |

sorry but there's nothing in this image to differentiate 'family' for me in this image. it's a beautiful image though. |
