Your background is amazing! The sky is a little boreing because there is no contrast between the clouds and sky. The child is adorable but this is not a sports shot. Running is a sport but this picture is not in a sport setting. Her foot is cropped off and she is wearing sox. As a personal trainer, a bit of advice....this is terrible for your back and ankles.(even if you are young)Overall, you are very talented and this is a nice picture, but it just didn't fit the challenge well. Good luck in future challenges!

| Nice expression on the young man and captured well. Good blur on the arm indicating speed. Nice deppth of field. To be picky, would like to see contrasted clouds in blue sky. |

2 - DMC - A very nice portrait but - that is not what you were challenged to do. Running in your socks does not a 'sports action shot' make. Maybe there were no nearby 'sports action' opportunities, I don't know - does that mean you have to forego the challenge? If there was absolutely nothing else you could have 'created' to 'fit' (find that very difficult to believe) - in my opinion, yes.
edit: this picture has 'stuck' with me so I am taking the liberty of adding it to my favorites. I hope you enter a similar one in a 'innocence' or 'carefree' or 'childhood' etc Challenge one day. It is has a very 'pure' and carefree feel to it that is endearing and unique. Also, fyi, the 'Outing with Grandpa' I thought was another 'special' shot, as are others I have seen of yours, like Fraehulstur. I like your style.

| Very crisp. The blur on the hands show that the boy is moving quickly. The expression is great. I tried to get a clear shot like this along with the background on my shot but it didn't turn out as well. |

| I know those hills are glorious but I think this would go from a 5 to at least a 7 if you narrowed the depth of field to let the background receed. Nice colors. I like the expression, too. |

This is a very happy picture as such, e.g. we feel the joy in the kid's face as he is running.
However, I don't connect this picture very much with sports - more with playfulness.
Other than that it's quite frustrating that the right foot is missing in the picture - a wider view would probably have been more optimal here - and to have such an overexposed sky.
I would probably have used slight Shadow/highlight in Photoshop to bring out the detail in the kid's pants.
Sharpening is perhaps a bit too agressive as can especially be seen in the kid's pants.
I also think this picture would have been much nicer in black and white.

| I think this would have been cropped better if foot on ground wasn't cut off. Otherwise a beautiful shot. |
