Greetings from the Critique Club };-)

Initial thoughts
Interesting composition, meets the challenge, tilt and graininess hurts it.

Composition/ Content
Everything in the shot seems to lean to the lower left. That really seems to hurt it as most of your commenters noted. The shot itself holds some interest, especially the gull on the motor. I think I would have cropped this in from the right just at the bottom of the hill. That and rotated it two degrees to the right.

Technical
Focus seems a bit soft and grainy. You have enough megapixels with your camera to pick that up. Do you know about Neat Image? That free download would really help this shot. It would sharpen and remove the graininess in the sky. The lighting is a bit flat as well, but that could only be helped by the sun or a change in time.

My Opinion On The Photo
I originally scored this shot a five as did most of the voters. I think that it meets the challenge but could have been improved a little to finish higher than it did. It has some interst but could have been better. Good job, and keep up the good work.

I would be happy to talk further about this shot if you would like to contact me.

Greetings!

I thought that you might like to know that I just finished a critique on your shot "Trouble In Paradise". I hope it helps in some way!

Thanks,

Nice, but it is not level, you need about a 2 Deg rotation clockwise

Beautiful scene but the whole thing seems to be tilting. Is it just me? Could be.

your horizon is a bit titled. A slight rotation to the right (clockwise) a degree or so, would probably fix it! :) Love the colours though.

Lucky shot getting that seagull sitting on the boat. Your postcard gives out a very serene and peaceful impression.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like the horizon is tilting towards the left side. A I wrong? Good pic, seagull does a whole lot. 7

The sky is severely pixelated on this shot. who the heck is manning the boat? a free floater? I hope not for the boat owner's sake. Nice scenery but lit lloks a little tilted off of the horizon, but it could be just an optical illusion.

Nice composition. However, the details really matter - the horizon needs to be level.

Beautiful Picture, perfect for a postcard!

Nice scene. but the horizon is slanted - needs a slight rotation clockwise in your picture editor.

Can't see a good reason for this to be tilted so I guess you just haven't straightened it - that horizon really bugs me. Not a great shot, though I like the gull sitting on the motor. The light is very flat, which removes all the depth of texture from the rocks and vegetation, there seems to be a definition problem, everything is slightly out of focus, and there's quite a lot of digital noise in the sky. Could have been quite interesting if you'd waited 'til the sun was lower in the sky, or of you'd shot with the sun not behind you.

straighten it

A good seaside depiction, but I would straighten out the horizon and lose the grainyness.

this is a nice shot, but a bit slanted. love the seagull perched onto the boat, and the lighthouse in the background. the grainy/noisy artifacts can be cleaned up a bit too. nice colors.

Needs to text on the pic since it's a postcard. Should tell you what it is, where, etc.

It might be me, but this photo looks tilted down to the left.
