I really like this shot! It has great action and the expression on the horses face is wonderful. The only thing that I would have done different is to crop out some of the negative space. I wish that the background would have been a little more colorful. Everything else is great. Good Luck in future contest.

Wonderful action shot, I really like the focus on the riders face and the emotion you captured, great job! |

The rider looks like she is in the horses mouth too much. |

Receiving one of my highest scores for this challenge, this image is exquisitely rendered. The position of the horse, its straining neck, the determination of the rider's bearing all add to a truly interest generating composition and the hat is the icing on the cake! |

8 - I really like this shot. Great action shot, especially of the horse. I just noticed the shadow of the hooves too, which looks great. Great angle, great 'feel'. I like the hat. Criticism; the perspective is good but for me, not sure, maybe a different crop, different angle, perhaps a nudge rotation to the left, not sure. Maybe black and white would work really well for this shot, don't know. Of course, more focus and sharpness, making the horse and rider (and hat) really stand out against the dirt/dust, would make this a much better photograph in my opinion. Good capture. |

Nice potential in this shot but, I think you have way too much empty space that doesn't add to the shot. a tighter crop around the girl and horse would be nice that could be expanded to the hat but, all the empty space on the left adds nothing to the shot. |

clarity/contrast/color: 1/2
composition,POV,DOF: 1/2
effort+originality: 2/2
theme appropriate: 1/2
aesthetic timelessness+emotion: 2/2
Looking at the emotion on this horse and glancing at the composition, it makes me wish for a more serious title. I also wish the hat was in the air :] Very nice capture. 7 |

would have like to have seen more of the thirds here. exp is ok and focus is on the horse. would rather have seen the look in the riders eyes. Your choice though. |

That horse looks loco. You've captured some good action however the subject is a bit too central therefore stagnating the action. Since the horse is moving to the left a little more space on the left would probably make the image more dynamic. |

love the look on the horse's face, but the whole image seems a little washed out. |

Look at the dynamics on this shot. Something seems askew in the composition, however. |

Lovely picture - pity the horse couldn't have smiled for the camera!. The action is superb and the colours are just right. The hat on the ground makes a very neat touch - well done - 9 |
