To me, flight is the epitome of independence.

Technically this may not be the sharpest, but I'm happy that I caught this little dude mid-flight.

Great composition, wonderful contrast of dragonfly colours and background colours. Wish it were a touch sharper though I can understand why that might not be the case. Flight definitely speaks of independence to me. 8

i like the colors in the background, but the lack of detail in the dragonfly hurts the picture, in my opinion.

i am doing many pics similar to this, lots of dragonfly neer my house, and i find catching them when they fly is SO hard, anyways, you could have taken a faster picture, but it is really nice

would be a great photo if it was sharp. Instead, it is oversharpened (or, was it intentional?)

I love the depth of field in this. That background just makes this look awesome. And I don't even like bug pictures. . . .but I like this one.

Too bad about the overexposure.

Good idea, but the image sees to have been either over processed or cropped. The eyes have (IMHO) lost there sense of life and can see pixels of black between the head and the wings. I know this would have been a very hard shot to capture (having taking pictures of flying insects myself) but standing on it's own as an image there are problems. I do like the DOF
