Photographer’s Notes
Went to Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo today looking for zoo animals and chanced upon this opportunity to showcase an interesting texture. I know elephant hide’s been done before and may even be done again in this challenge. Hopefully this will be good enough to stand out from the crowd.

I love my 70 - 200 lens. this was taken from about 50 feet.

I know there will be folks that will comment that this would be so much better in B&W or desaturated. I tried it that way but I felt it would be like stealing part of this noble animal's soul to steal away his color.

Very cool!!!! Alot ike one I wanted to submit. I got it while shooting the zoo challenge, but when I went back to get it for the textures challenge, he wouldn't pose again :( Anyway, yours is probably much better, so it worked out :) Excellent job. The texture just jumps off the page at you!!! 10

This is great. Seems a tad overexposed, but the detail and composition is really well done. 8
