Challenge: Textures III (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Canon EOS-300D Rebel
Lens: Canon EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 III
Location: Reynold's Park

Date Uploaded: Jul 15, 2005

My class went on a "field trip" to a park near the university where I am taking Digital 101. It had been raining and was nearing dusk. This tree has a very rough, coarse bark and I hope I portrayed that texture.

The in-focus area is too far away. I would have placed it closer to the bottom of the frame. Nice shot, though.

To narrow a DOF.

This could have been a better shot if the focus didn't vary so wildly across it.

Not sure on the DOF here. I think it would be improved with having the closest bark the sharpest instead of the middle.

I like this down on the ground looking up effect but it isn't in sharp focus, so it sort of loses it's oomph. The color of the leaves are good. Maybe you could have upped the blue of the sky to give it a bit of contrast? Hope this is helpful.
