Thanks the local zoo actually has one of each sex, so I have pictures of the red and green together :-)

Just as a point of information. This is a female Eclectus, native to the Solomon islands. They are one of the few parrot species which can be sexed by color. The males are green with an orange beak. (I have one of each :-) ) Beautiful shot.

Great colors. The bird seems a little OOF all over: I think the greenery in the foreground is in better focus.

Beautiful shot. Kinda odd to see such a tropical looking bird in a pine tree, but it's a striking contrast. Nice DOF and color.

How pretty. The contrast of coloration is great. Nice detailing. I love that he is sitting on a pine branch.
