** Greetings from the Critique Club **
What a sweet shot of a beautiful young child free from the restrictions of mom and dad. This truly is independence - learning to be on your own in just one more way. The composition is very good - would not change a thing as far as that.
The color of the child's skin is not quite right due to the blue water casting upon it. It's hard to change this under basic editing - not sure if playing around with the hue a tad might have helped or not.
Being that this is a child of a friend and you'll most likely be making a print for her, I would suggest doing some selective color correction outside of the challenge just for her. I think you have done a wonderful job as far as basic editing will allow.

I recently saw some art photos of lone persons in the middle of totally empty and seemingly vast oceans, sand beaches, parking lots...and the shots worked well. you have a good concept. Not sure if there was more water, but for me, even more water in the picture would have increased the impact of this shot. Making it a B&W might also work?

| I like this image alot for the simple fact that being able to swim is independence for sure, don't need mom or dad to cling on to. The face of the little girl is going towards blue, don't know why that is? Overall a meaningful and nice shot.. |

| I like your use of negative space. Due to the reflective quality of the water, her face is a tad blue, but overall, this is a crisp interesting image. Thanks for the smile. |
