I originally wanted to shoot a used piece of sandpaper but found a container of spackling instead. I just opened the tub and shot the way I found it.
Used a tri-pod and a $2.00 adjustable clamp light w/ a 100W bulb to create some shadows. Took about 25 photos total and liked this one.

Used a Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 Macro Super Lens.

desaturate
levels
gaussian blur
unsharp mask
brightness/contrast
resize for posting

Upper left too blurry for me, if the photo showed the same crispness that is in the center I would have found it more appealing. What was the natural color?
