Challenge: Textures III (Basic Editing III) Camera: Canon EOS-20D Lens: Lensbaby 2.0 Location: Brisbane Date: Jul 17, 2005 Aperture: lensbaby 2.0 f2.0 ISO: 200 Shutter: 1/40 Date Uploaded: Jul 17, 2005

Dried out protea flower shot with lensbaby 2.0 and 12mm extension tube. Sharpen A 20, R 250, T 0, Sharpen again A33, R 33, Resize, Sharpen again A 100, R 0.3, Save for web - Image Ready - Hue/Sat - Save.
The lensbaby, being plastic, doesn't affect the reading of the aperture on the camera, and shows up as 00 when shooting. I can change the aperture of the lens though, by using aperture rings. I left it at f2.0, that is, no ring. |

There were many shots defining textures this week. But there was only one that defined me ... this one. I am so intrigued by this piece that so clearly goes beyond a theme challenge and floats into abstracted art as unobtrusively as a quiet whisper of wind through the fertile folds of a living being. My personal blue for the week and added to my favorites. |

Nice isolation of central image using shallow depth of field....details crisp. |

Interesting abstraction. Unfortunately to my eye, nothing seems to be in sharp focus. |

love it - the soft focus (? blur?) works extremely well at bringing my attention inwards |

Wow this looks like a fantasy thing or something... And it all focuses toward that little itty bitty fluff there.... Excellent. |

Pretty abstract but it catches attention. Like the play with blured. |

Ok after voting and going back, this was one of the ones that I bumped up a notch. I really do like this shot, and I have found my self drawn back to it at least a half a dozen times. I think what I like about this photo is that you nailed texture for one, and for two the colors in the back are absolutely gorgeus. Very warm, and cozy, maybe soothing is a good word. Anyway, gl to ya mate, i hope you do well. |
