It feels like this photo was taken to draw your eye downward, but your eye reacheds it's destination, it's blurry. I would have either switch the angle at which you shot at or adjusted your DOF. Just my opinion.

You have a great subject in your shot. I think the lattice work in the background just about distroys your work. It is very distracting Those shapes just don't compliment the shapes of yout thermometer. Maybe you could try a low angle shot with just a clear sky in the background. 5

It seems as though nothing is in focus here. It's almost there at the top but not quite.

Very colorful and glassy :-) The refraction in the lower part of the glass creates a nice effect. I'm not too sure about the background you chose tho.

The lattice in the background is very distracting. This image probably would be better if it were closely cropped and then resampled to get a decent sized image. Exposure seems to be ok though.

DoF is shallow.

I think the background is a bit distracting and perhaps it should have been shot lower to get the length of the glass in focus.....

There was a really good shot of a Galileo thermometer in a challenge a while back. It was centered diagonally in the frame to create a strong dynamic composition. As this is, I find the background a bit distracting, and don't care for the centered placement of the subject. It's a beautiful subject, and I think with a bit more creativity, this could have been a winner.

I think either a shorter or longer lens would have worked better for me here...I like creative use of depth, but this one either doesn't blur enough, or blurs too much for my taste. I like it to be REALLY clear what you're trying to do. Nice subject and positioning though.

Good subject, but the background draws attention away from it.
