Thanks mav :)
I still like this image and where i was heading and will sorta re-do this lateron. The set-up was very much *me* and don't give a hoot that the glass wasn't the focus or that it belonged in 'food' or 'Italy'. I like scab-lab suggestion. Was thinking of a diffuser but couldn't come up with something effective.
What baffles me is that during daylight from the same monitor i have seen this image and at times it was somewhat clearer and you could see more of the neck and the lip which made a big difference to this img. |

Ok, my turn. :)
I like your negative space in the upper right. The garlic follows the curve of the bottle - I like the glint of yellow above the tip of the garlic. The two little garlics are also a very nice touch.
Now - the only problem *I* have is the bright reflection. I know how tough lighting is and it looks like you played with this to get it as close as possible. Also, knowing what I know, you pushed yourself on this image and I think that's as good as possible - but consider bouncing the light or diffusing it - as a way to light more of this and pull it out from "dark" comments.
Excellent work - I was among the multitude of 7's here. :) |

nice idea, but the main focus of the photo isn't really the glass |

The dark background, the soft light at the top of the bottle, the greenish gold tint of the olive oil, it looks like an old oil painting - good job. |

Maybe a small light placed behind the olive oil bottle would make it glow even more.Looks like there is something back there, but the garlic blocks it too much. Nice idea. |

either that's a giant clove of garlic or a small bottle of olive oil ;-) i think the photo is well composed and executed. you might consider putting black paper/cloth on the table that blends in with the faded background to give it a more studio look. |

I could have graded this much higher if it were entered in a 'cooking' or 'food' or 'Italy' theme. As it is, the fact that the bottle is made of glass is just an incidental thing, and I had to leave more room in my voting range for photos that were as pretty, as well-composed, that made the glassness the star. |

should choose a brighter background, and the garlic seem more catch my eyes than the bottle does :) |

I like this - wish the bottle didn;t have a lable and the golden glow of the oil could show better |

Wonderful image, well set up and the lighting is very fitting. Your border also fits the image perfectly which I can't say for too many borders I have been seeing lately. |

Very nice picture, but the Colavita bottle is a little lost in the dark background. I think backlighting it would make this picture perfect. |

The garlic is placed beautifully -- it looks like the bulb is hugging the bottle! |
