** greetings from the critique club **

I have to agree with what was already said -- the door seems to be the be the main subject, but it's out of focus...which brings me to think along your lines -- you neglected the door in your photo just as the door is neglected in real life. It works...but unfortunately, probably not enough people made the connection.

It's pretty strong compositionally, I think the photo would do great in certain places, unfortunately, most photos have just a second or two (here on dpchallenge durring voting) to grab the viewer's attention and say "he stop look at me" -- and apparently this one didn't do that.

Keep shooting...this shows that you're creative and definately have the eye.

I'm not convinced about the DOF choice here. Yes, the door being a part of the background fits the title, but I wonder if it would have been a stronger image and composition with both the foreground and background in clear focus.

Nice DOF. I like the perspective. My only complaint...I think angling yourself in taking the picture to get more door and less white would have been nice.

The photo is not all that appealing. The tree bark, which appears to be the main subject, falls out of focus on the upper left corner. And the white space to the rigt of the red door is not useful.

I know you're probably getting this from a dozen people, but your title is about the door, yet your focus is on the tree bark. It's a very interesting shot of the bark ... perhaps a better title would have included that, since it seems to be your major subject. Good luck! :)

good wood but rather uninteresting, focus out down left hand side

tilte suggests the door is the subject, but it is out of focus

Original point of view and composition. I like this a lot.

I think the fact that the subject of your photo (according to the title) is out of focus is a bit odd. The fact that the tree almost entirely obscures it (and dominates the photo) is odd, too.
