Not being a big cat fan myself, I am surprised at how much I like this image. It's very creative and unique. I love the effects of the frame and 3D flowers. My only very minor criticism is that because the flowers appear to be so 3D, it makes the cats themselves seem much more 2D. And let me explain what I mean - I don't think it's the effect that's creating this, I think it's more the actual processing of the cats & background themselves. There appears to be marked edges around the cats that seem flat. Perhaps a very small amount of blending brush and/or shadows on the edges of the cats would help support the 3D effect already in place a bit more. Hope I don't sound like I'm just rambling (which I tend to do). Bottom line - very cool shot & a surprisingly (for me) appealing image.

** Greetings from the Critique Club **

I absolutely ,loved this when I first saw it, and still do. The 3D effect it presents is great. The vibrant colors just pop out at me. I can't help but smile when viewing this.
Great shot - shows some welcome creativity.

The challenge description read that wood needed to be 'an important component of the composition' NOT the subject.

Lori I like your idea and this is wonderfully shot. Good job getting them cats to sit still.

Had to give this one a 10. It was so creative, and the cats are really cute.

I am confused by this image, it looks very layered and Im sorry if I'm wrong but the cats look like they come from another photo. If you have set this up within the challenge rules well done.

LOL... I love how tricks work... This paticualar technique with the frame you done so well with. I see a flower above the yellow, one that has created a hole and it is sord of looking like its more fake then real the way it hangs.. Not trying to be to picky but only letting you know as I need it all the time to perfect something I am doing in setups like this.. I love the cats how on earth you got 2 of them to sit ther like that geez...Are you communicating with them? :) The wall behind is made of wood to so all in looks like you took the trick of this use of a frame made it your own and perfected here...Great shot.!!

umm.... this photos a bit eerie.. i dunno, wood isn't the main subject just an out lying border and background.

The frame is overbearing. I like the concept, but given that the background behind the cats is wood, I think this picture would have been nice with a much simpler frame.

Very cute idea, but the subject really isn't the wood.
