David, both these are pretty well exposed. Depending on what you're after in the photo, one or the other will work better for you. In this one, you have a nice histogram with pretty much all the data at the dark end of the spectrum, but have blown the whites slightly (sunlight just to the right of the center of the full flower, and sunlight on the leaves to the right. The red center of the full flower might be just slightly under exposed but it looks nice and does no harm.
This has given you lovely textures for the petals and probably pretty accurate colors. The foliage in the background is dark enough that it receeds from my consciousness. This focuses attention on the flowers, just where you want it. |
