Taken at Creve Coeur Park before work (as usual). It was about 7:30 in the morning so the light was low and the auto-flash fired. I've been wanting to use this tree for a while now. I love how it clings to the side of the cliff. I hope everyone else likes it too, but I'm sure to get a bunch of those "boring" or "not original" comments, especially since the wood is raw rather than processed.

** Greetings from the Critique Club **

Kinda cool - but would have liked to see more of the tree as a whole as you mentioned it is sitting on the edge of a cliff - would have added interest to it. The flash really hurts this image, as the artificial light really blows out the highlights of the wood.

The flash is a little harsh. Too bad because it's a great root formation. 5

The lighting here seems too artificial to me, but it is a nice composition otherwise.

This might really have some punch in black and white. There isn't alot of contrast as it is and no real focal point. I like the idea of the moss - maybe do a macro with lots of detail and perhaps one of the leaves peeking into the shot. I hope you find this helpful.

some of the wood areas seem over-exposed, almost as if a flash was used and caused areas to be too bright. May be corrected by use of the burn tool

could have work with a little more work on photoshop or camera setting. It just feel like a snapshot and maybe a little curve work or bright/contrast work would have made this better.
