CRITIQUE CLUB CRITIQUE
by karmat
This is one of pictures from the challenge that I like as soon as I saw it, adn just sat and looked at it for a while. I really like the bright, vivid colors, and I think the diagonal motion throughout the shot makes it especially dynamic. From any point on the bottom or left, the eyes are drawn upwards and to the right. Likewise, they can be drawn down and left as well. The focus is great, as each of the "threads" are visible and the entire picture is very clear. The lighting is good, because there are not exceptionally strong bright spots, or washed out areas to distract the viewer.
The only minor thing I could think of to "improve" it would be to find a yellow rope with another color in it, or to put the yellow one in the middle. I think it might seem a little more balanced that way.
Great work, though adn best to you in future challenges.

I must say...VERY NICE!! I voted a 10 on this because this is a nice and unique representation of the primary colors. The lighting is perfect and the colors literally pop out of the screen. Only drawback...too bad there wasn't a stand of red running through the yellow rope to even out the color trend. You should score high...good luck! |

I like the lighting on this one. Has good shadows, etc. and not harsh. Hard to tell if the focus is a touch off, mainly because the yellow "looks" like it. Might just be a contrast thing though |

I love this composition. The diagonals work very well. I'm not so high on the shadows in the LLC, but otherwise the lighting is pretty great. If you swapped the red and yellow, perhaps the light wouldl make the red a tad brighter and not overexpose the yellows so much - they are very bright, almost too bright. Great shot. 9 |

This has a familiar feel to it. :-)
I like your composition and colors. They make this a strong shot. I also like that the blue and red rope have the other colors innertwined. Good work! 8 -danny |

Beautiful colors...perfect dof for subject. If I had to nitpick...I'd say I might like to see all of the rope the closer to the same distance from the camera...my eye keeps getting drawn up to the upper left corner where the yellow gets farther away...I'd like for them to rest in the middle instead. 'Course...my eyes could be weird...really nice job :) |

Very nice how the blue rope contains a yellow string and the red rope a blue one :) |
