 Sometimes inspiration hits in a flash. The idea came to quickly as I was thinking of ideas. I love that. This shot was also fun because it required some legwork before I could shoot it. I had to first go to the cigar store and pick out a good looking cigar ("no sir, I don't care how it tastes"). Then I had to come up with a good replica of a $100 bill. Finally I had to work out the best lighting before I started the fire.

Post production: crop, levels, contrast, desaturation, USM. I wish I could have cloned out the edge of the $100 bill. It looks "fake".

This is a self-portrait. I did many of the test shots on remote capture, but the final shot was clicked by my wife (remote capture was too slow for multiple shots). And, yes, I am aware making copies of money is illegal. Luckily all the evidence is "up in smoke"...

What is up with the last comment? I hate when I get comments like that! Maybe he would have sent you the real bills to burn? I had not seen this image until today. There I thought I was being pretty original the whole time. Great idea!

well done but I wish the backround lighting was lower, to put more emphasis on the subject matter, or that you had burned in the yellow wall and the highlights on the upper lip.

OH My! I hope you weren't really burning that!! Very creative, but I get kind of sick to my stomach when I see money wasted. :-)
