Thanks for all of the comments, especially on the grain! I didn't realize it was so grainy until I looked at it on my friend's comp.. after the challenge started, of course.

Pre challenge comments:
tried to not just take a pic of a room for this challenge... wanted to do something a bit different.

This photo is all about the unselfishness of giving up some of the space (and "room") in your life for someone you love... partly why i wanted it to have a warm, fuzzy feeling

used a tripod and the timer. And my headboard was distracting, so i wound up just covering it with my top sheet to present more of a unified image.

For post processing, I tried a lot of different things. This was the version I liked the best. I really like the warm feeling of this. Maybe the voters will too.. *crosses fingers*

PP: levels, used levels to play with the colors to get the warm feeling as well. I don't know why. Then used selective color to tone it down a bit.
Applied curves, resized, usm.
Oh, and slight spot editing and i think a bit of dodging and burning

Good dof, pleasing colors, interesting interpretation of the challenge. It appears a little noisy -- perhaps a lower ISO or NeatImage might help. BOL :)

Slightly tight on the crop in my opinion....good idea though.

I like the composition very much. Tells a story. Wish the image was not quite as grainey as it is .
